Pinterest

Are you on Pinterest yet?

If not, you should be! Pinterest is a website where people have posts and they "pin" pictures of things that they like. For example, if you're reading a blog that has a tutorial for making a ruffle pillow, you'd pin a picture of that pillow and it'd show up on your board. Now, other people cans see that you like that pillow and they can then follow the picture back to the original posting

Say you love the pattern "chevron."  You'd just type that in and more pictures than you can imagine will pop up and make you waste your entire day because you'll end up sitting there looking at all of them!

I realize it sounds ridiculous, but it's so easy and once you get a hang of it, it's so addicting!

If you want to see what I'm talking about, click the banner on the right side with the "P" and that'll take you directly to my Pinterest! The website is by invite only for new members, so if you want in, email me or comment and I'd be happy to invite you.

Happy Pinning!

Our Story

Being an avid reader, I know that the beginning to any story is quite important. So, I thought before I jumped right into my life as a Momma, I'd start from the beginning.

My story begins in 2005, during my Sophomore year in college at a wonderful place I like to call Texas Tech University. {Get Your Guns Up!} At this point I had had one "real" relationship my Freshman year that had ended badly. It was a long distance relationship and it was jealous and ugly, not on my part, and just too much for an 18 year old to go through. Now, I was in having fun mode with my friends.

Jump to March of that year and my friends decided that since it's St. Patrick's Day weekend that we need to go out. I was not feeling well and really just wanted to veg out in my room. I had actually already skipped out on my sorority Spring retreat, so I just didn't want to go anywhere. After a lot of "C'mon, let's just go!" from the girls I put on the only green thing I owned and headed out. For some strange reason I remember that I also had a hole in my jeans, so to put the picture together for you, I was really classy that night.

We head out to a party and after a while we move on to the next at a friend's house. While I'm walking on the side of the house to get to the back entrance I happened to turn to look in the window and I see what happens to be the cutest "brown" boy.

This party was for a Hispanic Fraternity and being friends with a lot of them, I knew that this party would be fun. What I didn't account for was that it was pledging season and that cute boy I saw in the window was a pledge so that's why I had never seen him around these guys before. So we go into the party and hours pass without ever seeing the boy again UNTIL out of the corner of my eye I spot him about to walk by me. Quickly I think that I have no reason to talk to him so I have to make something up. Luckily he happens to be wearing the most ridiculously large button on his sleeve that says, "Kiss Me, I'm Irish!"
Actual button!

So he walks right by my friend and I and I reach out to him and ask to see his button. He turns to me and shows it to me and smiles. I read it and laugh and ask him if he's had any luck with those kisses. He tells me no he hasn't and I, in all my sarcastic wonder, yell out, "It's because your Brown stupid, not Irish!" He looks at me for a second, takes off the button and tells me to wear it then to see if I have any luck. So I take it and just as I'm about to pin it on, he looks at me, exclaims "Hey, you're Irish!" and plants one straight on my mouth.

Stunned does not even cover what was going on in my head. And then like any normal bunch of teenagers would do, we may or may not have continued to kiss in the middle of a crowded kitchen at a fraternity party.
{Oh, how I cringe at the thought of now having a child who will one day go away to college and experience who knows what!}

So anyway, I guess I really should be telling you the story of how I met my husband and not some random guy right?

Oh, I kid, I kid!

That wonderful, ridiculous, night that I was supposed to be out of town for, I met my wonderful Husband, Marcos. He was just a little ol' Freshman but quickly he would become the sweetest, most thoughtful, and loving boy I had ever known. I guess that's why I married him 3 years later!

So that friends, is the beginning of my story as a Momma....and if you talk to any of my friends, don't let them trick you into thinking that they have more details of that night! They lie!

05 August 2011

Greetings

So, let's try this again....(perhaps this time I'll actually update!)

Hi!

My name is Jennifer and as of March 2011 I officially became a Momma.  From the moment I found out I was pregnant I kept telling myself that I had to "write it all down." And yet, time just kept slipping away. So now here I am, a year later, and I've finally mustered enough courage to just start blogging again and to tell it the way it is.

My little boy of wonder is Remy Daen and my Husband Marcos and I welcomed him to the "outside" on March 18, 2011. A week later we packed up our bags and moved an hour and half outside of the city to the smallest town I've ever been to. Needless to say it wasn't easy, but now, almost 5 months later I'm finally starting to get a hang of our new house, new town, and well...being a Momma.

I hope you'll enjoy this little insight into my life.

01 March 2010

It's March.

How is it that it's already March? I sure hope Colorado gets the memo that the month is March and therefore it should stop snowing immediately! haha.

So this past weekend, Marcos and I did something pretty fun. We doggysat! So without further delay I'd like you to meet Peace.

He's a little over a year old and is miniature pinscher mixed with a billion other things. He's such a sweet dog and Stella LOVES him! They had a ton of fun playing and after every play time, Stella would take a l-o-n-g nap, which was a plus for me!

Peace was really good at sitting and letting me take a picture, but Stella was always going crazy so here are some of best pictures I was able to get.

Peace & Stella playing in the snow.

Walking.

You see how it's blurry? It's because Stella is CRAZY.

Poor Peace, he just wanted to play with his toy but Stella kept trying to get it away from him.

I felt sorry for the ppl underneath the apartment because they were jumping and running so much!
Peace lives in the building across from us, so every time I take Stella outside, she runs to where Peace lives because she wants to play! Haha.

Basically I spent all weekend with the dogs, but other than that just did some bowling with some friends. Needless to say, professional bowling is not in my future.

I don't know if I'll be making any St.Patrick's Day wreaths, but I'll think about it this week and let you all know if I do!

I'll leave you with a quick look at one of my favorite walls in our living room.

It's my "L" wall! I starting collecting different "L's" and the black and white one and polka dot L's are both just plain white letters and I mod podged scrapbook paper on them. The top left silver one is from Anthropolgie as is big outline wire one. The gold bottom left is from Hobby Lobby, the green one and the little wire one are from Urban Outfitters, and the fabric covered one in the upper right hand side is from Anthropologie. I actually have another red one that is up there too, but I took this picture before I put it up. I got that one at my favorite antique store in downtown Littleton.

I was actually a little bummed when I decided to collect these because the letter L is so boring! It doesn't have a good shape, like an M or S, or even an O. But oh well, I've learned to live with it.  :o)

So here's to a happy Monday for everyone! My husband is actually flying out to Arkansas for work tonight so I've been able to enjoy him at home for much longer than I'm used to. Maybe I should help him pack his clothes?.....or maybe not.  lol
