Insta Friday

I can't believe it's Friday already.
Anyone else feel like their week just flew by?
So, it's another link up to Insta Friday over at Life Rearranged.
Join the fun!

My cousin was in town and we made the hour and half drive into civilization, i.e. The Mall, and I had to buy this hat immediately. It's from babyGAP and it's oh so fabulous, right? What can I say? The kid likes hats!

Sunday I managed to convince the Hubs to take us to the pumpkin patch a couple exits down.
I of course forgot to bring the aforementioned hat!
It was fun and we may or may not have purchased about $40 in pumpkins including one that looks like a giant jalapeno. We like the weirdos.

My friend Alexis lives in LA but drove up to visit family in Denver. She was actually the very first person I told that I was pregnant last year and she had never even met Remy! So she drove up to spend the night and Remy just loved her! But, who wouldn't love a model? {She was on Project Runway people!!}
I mean c'mon, how come I never look this good when taking pictures with my child?

I'm from Texas which means that I was born with the notion that no other state is greater than Texas. Therefore it still tugs at my heart to know that my son is an official Coloradoan.
{Had to go pick up his bc because we're flying this weekend!}

Toys, toys, toys!!!

I was picking up these blankets that I lay out on the floor for Remy to play on and apparently Stella thought I was making her a nice comfy bed.

I just had to take this shot. He looks so B I G standing up as if he's actually doing something important. I think it's the polo and khakis that add to the B I Gness. So stinkin' cute!

Our makeshift "pillow block" so Remy doesn't get to the stairs to go downstairs. I know this isn't legit, but it's really just to deter him for longer than 1 second.
{I spy a tiny sock!}

This is Stella's very best friend, Peace. He came up from LA to visit too! They hadn't seen each other in almost 9 months or so and they had a blast running around and playing.
{I took this when they were standing at our back door...can you tell I need to clean it?}

And finally, last week I put a picture of my sparkly nails {you can see it here} and just yesterday I put on the houndstooth ones. Have you ever tried the Salon Effects nail strips? They're pretty great!

Tomorrow Remy and I fly out to Texas for a week! It's the first time he'll be flying and I'm a little nervous to just be flying alone with him and no Hubs. Pray for us will you? I'm sort of a nervous traveler and I get an upset stomach from the moment I wake up until I've arrived at my destination. Why you ask? Because when I was 16, on the way up to the mountains, I threw up all over my best friend due to car sickness. From that day on, all I can think about is how I'm going to throw up everywhere every time I travel. Yes, I know it's just in my head, but I usually just drug myself with Dramamine and go to sleep, but I'm thinking that wouldn't be a good idea whilst traveling with a baby, right? Haha! So just send us your prayers and we'll be fine!
Have a great weekend y'all!

Insta Friday

life rearranged

Another fabulous linky party @ Life Rearranged!

Join the fun with pictures from your cell phone, regardless if you have the instagram app or not!
And as a side note, does anyone else not like the new instagram with the update?
I sort of feel that the quality of my favorite "Nashville" is just not the same!
I love the suggestion that we use our instagram names on the link up!
I'm "jenlechuga"...fancy, no?
Anywho...

This photo is actually from last week but since I didn't link up last week I thought I'd share it because it's one of my favorites! The Hubs and Remy out for a stroll at the festival downtown.

Chevron pajamas? Yes please!

Oh yes, that's the Baby Bullet!! My folks bought it for me and I just whipped it out to make Remy some food. This was apples, which he HATED!  {so far he only likes avocados}

Cutest kid on top of a vehicle.

This is my Brother's favorite cereal. My Brother who is in his 30s.
BUT they apparently do not sell it in Texas, so here I am in Colorado being an awesome Sister and stocking up for him. Last year I actually ordered 6 boxes from Amazon and had them shipped to his place for Christmas!

For some reason I'm just not a fan of a baby in his diaper only.
But, the Hubs had him like this one afternoon and boy is the chubby little chest to. die. for.

Stella thinks she's safe on the couch.
She is mistaken.

Rockin' the shades on an outing to Target.
A pretty big deal since the closest one is an hour away! {sad, sad times}

My cousin is here and she bought the Sally Hansen Salon Effects peel and stick nail polish.
This one is called Frock Star.
I love that 1 strip can do two of my itty bitty nails.
I'm slightly obsessed with it already.
{Man my hands are wrinkly up close!}

Have a great weekend everyone!

Insta Friday

 Ah!
I can't believe it's Friday already.
I also can't believe that the last post I put up was last weeks Insta Friday.
Sorry!
I've been such a bum this past week, but my goal is to post this whole coming week!
Anyway, on to Insta Friday. Click the pretty button above to join the party.

Our week started off with finding this treasure at, where else?, Goodwill! My Brother has a thing for globes and this bad boy stands around 3 ft tall and the globe illuminates! We got it for $50 but once I went home I looked this model up and it's worth around $5-600! Now the only trick is sending it from Colorado to Texas.

This is either the world's largest bib or Remy is tiny.
{haha}

I turned around to find this child pushing himself up on the bottom of the coffee table.
You see that big empty space?
Yeah, there were magazines and books there until some baby hands threw them all off and tore half of them!

The Hubs cleaning off after working on his Jeep.

Remy went from wearing this adorable outfit one day....

...to wearing this the next day! The temperature dropped almost 50 degrees in a day! Welcome Fall!

Both Remy & Stella kept their eyes on the Hubs' ice cream the entire time he was eating it.

And because it got cold here, I was able to whip out this fabulous vintage Lacoste sweater my Brother gave Remy. I love the stripes!

So we had a prompt this week and it was to take a picture of something we loved.
So be forewarned to not be grossed out by the state of this item.

 Allow me to introduce you to my blanket.
{and no, surprisingly at 26 years old, I'm not ashamed to show you this}
I've had this since the day I was born and I've slept with it every day since.
To say I love this blanket would be an understatement.
I LOVE this blanket.
It used to bright yellow with satin trim but now it's mostly shreds and as the Hubs describes it, "some nasty brownish color"  My Mom bought me book when I was in high school about baby Kermit the Frog and his blanket and how he finally put it away for safe keeping because he didn't need it anymore. Well good for you Kermit! But, I just like it okay? I mean, I don't walk around with it {anymore} and I don't watch TV with it {anymore} and I certainly don't take it to the dinner table {anymore}
I'm a Wife and a Momma now....{it just stays under my pillow now}
And that my friends, is true love.

Next week we're supposed to try and take a picture of something we hate. Should be interesting to see what people hate!  Have a good weekend y'all!

Insta Friday

Insta Friday time! Click the fabulous button above to join the linky party!

My parents drove almost 13 hours to come visit us this weekend! And by "us" I mean their one and only grandchild, Remy. They brought with them this Mickey hat for Remy that our good friends were gracious enough to get monogrammed for him on a recent trip to Disneyland.
I have one when I first went when I was 1 so I'm excited that Remy has his own hat too!

 I love that this kid now enjoys his bath time. So much water splashing ensues, it gets pretty ridiculous.

 Remy enjoying some Grandma time.

 Did my parents really buy me the Baby Bullet? You betcha they did!

The wonderful fabric my Mom picked out for me to make a skirt.
Though I did buy a new duvet this past weekend and I'm finally decorating our bedroom, so I might make some pillows out of this since I like it so much.

 We drove the almost 2 hours to Ikea and the Grandparents bought Remy this red highchair. He loves it!
Also, a big shoutout to my Dad who put together all my Ikea purchases including: this highchair, my curtain rod and curtains, and my new table for my sewing machine. Thanks Pops!

Found a cute black and white tie at the thrift store to make into another tie necklace. This time, my Mom sewed up the back for me and showed me how to hide the stitches because apparently she's pretty fancy like that. My first tie necklace looks like a hack job on the back. Thanks Mom!
You can find the tutorial I used here

LOVE this cute little dish I bought at Goodwill for $1.00 to put my rings in.

The Hubs and Remy enjoying a work call.

Went ahead and chopped off more bangs! Now they're total full frontal (I pulled them to the side here to see if I could still do that) and now I don't know why I waited so long to do it.

Scene: Remy sitting on my lap reading a book
2 seconds later....
Remy hears Stella behind him and flings himself down to get a better look.
{please notice Stella licking her chops since she just finished giving my child a good lick in the face}

Toys, toys, toys...and more toys!
They've officially taken over my home and I only have ONE kid.
I can only imagine the nonsense when we have more kids.
{that's Remy's first finger painting next to the mirror!}

 College football has started and I received my favorite newborn shot of Remy on top of our Texas Tech helmet on a stretched canvas this weekend. I can't wait to decorate our office in Tech colors and put this canvas up.

He is    t  h  i   s    close to crawling that he gets a little mad when he can't go forward. He then gives up and just rolls to his destination.

And of course I've taken 8 million photos of my child throughout the week so allow me to bore you with some of those to end Insta Friday!  Have a great weekend!

{I can't believe this adorable creature is all mine!}
